  • North Texas Teen Book Festival is proud to offer a Sensory Room to attendees who may need to take a short break from the input of festival day. The Sensory Room, located in Meeting Room 3 (MR 3) on Level 3 is a staffed room where attendees can sit in a quiet space with dim lighting. Fidget toys, coloring sheets, and ear plugs are available while supplies last.

Attendees are asked to talk only as needed and in whispers while in the sensory room to maintain a peaceful environment for all.

    The Sensory Room will be available from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • ASL Translators are available for select panels. Please look for the ASL symbol on the program or the signage outside of each room for the panels offering this service.

Live captioning by VITAC in most rooms. Scan the QR code at each room entrance to access this service.

  • First time attendees are invited to look at this introduction to North Texas Teen Book Festival, which will walk people through what to expect throughout the day of the event.

  • Most traditional convention centers are built horizontally, often forcing attendees to move across long expanses to get from one setting to the next. The vertical design of the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas puts elevators and escalators at the same point on every floor, allowing for visitors to easily orient themselves.

Curbside drop-off for wheelchairs and sidewalk curb cut-outs are located at each corner of the Convention Center perimeter. The 15-minute parking drop-off zones are located on Las Colinas Blvd and on Promenade Parkway. Push-button operated entry doors are at each entry point. More push-button entry buttons than required by law have been added to the building’s design to accommodate entry for all individuals.

Telephones, drinking fountains and restrooms throughout the building are wheelchair accessible. Large format digital signage is displayed throughout the building in case of an emergency as well as event information.
