Celebrate Reading: Support NTTBF for NTxGD
Imagine a sea of enthusiastic young readers, cheering wildly for their favorite author like a rock star. That’s the thrilling atmosphere at the North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF), where authors such as Tui T. Sutherland, Jeff Kinney, R.L. Stine, Angie Thomas, and Raina Telgemeier have recently captivated audiences. In 2024, the Irving Convention Center overflowed with energy, hosting over 16,000 attendees for the tenth annual celebration.
This North Texas Giving Day, the North Texas Teen Book Festival, hosted by the Irving Public Library, the Friends of the Irving Library and other community partners, is rallying support to grow alongside its audience, connecting even more students with reading and their favorite authors. In just over a decade, this annual festival has become an award-winning, nationally recognized event, a vibrant hub where thousands of teens, teachers and librarians gather to find their tribe and geek out over their favorite middle grade and young adult authors. Attendees explore new reads and dive into engaging group activities, panel discussions and book signings. The next NTTBF is scheduled for March 1, 2025.
By supporting NTTBF, contributors play a crucial role in nurturing a love of books and promoting literacy among the region’s teens and tweens. Every contribution makes a difference in ensuring the festival’s continued success for years to come. Early giving for North Texas Giving Day is already underway, with the main event taking place on Sept. 19. On this special day, from 6 a.m. to midnight, organizations compete for matching funds and exciting prizes based on community support and participation.
