What: The NTTBF steering committee and authors well versed in school/library visits will share their insights on how to start your own author visits in your school or public library, what makes for a good author visit, and steps to take to ensure an author visit is a success. The focus of this symposium is to how to successfully plan and host author visits at schools and public libraries. Attendees will learn about best practices from members of NTTBF’s steering committee, as well as other area librarians. Authors Kendare Blake, Ally Carter, Roshani Chokshi, Jeramey Kraatz, Alex London, and Julie Murphy will share their impressions on successful school and library visits and offer an opportunity for Q and A about author appearances. Attendees completing this training will also learn more about NTTBF18 school outreach opportunities, and they will receive a tote bag with a book from one of the featured authors and author visit related swag (while supplies last). Author signing and additional book sales directly following discussion.
